Re: Forgotten Pubs & Clubs in Glasgow

Remember the Tuxedo Princess, this her fate now you can buy her for a snip at £14million. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/tuxedo-royale-floating-nightclub-turns-8861003 That's her sister ship, the Tuxedo Royale, Stevie. I was just looking at it at the weekend, funnily enough. Th...

Re: Smith & McLean Galvanisers

It was called the Clyde Galvanising Works, and it was located at 5 Marine Street. There are lots of photos here , and you can see its original location and compare it with what stands in its place today by using the slider at the bottom left of this map . Sorry, can't help with employment records.

Re: What are you watching?

Brit Awards. Madonna had a nasty looking fall at the start of her set. Wonder if she didn't unclasp her cape in time and it wass supposed to be pulled or whether it caught on somebody. http://www.theguardian.com/music/live/2015/feb/25/brit-awards-2015-red-carpet-ceremony-winners-live Oh dear. Re: Does Glasgow need new shops?

It would be nice if Glasgow city centre had more variety and less of the national/multinational chain brands which proliferate in a relatively small area. I think it would be great to see small, independent retailers akin to those in Cresswell Lane/Dowanside Lane, or something like Manchester's Affl...

Re: Crocket is to close

Closing down sale, ie, reducing the prices to "steep" I'm surprised they have been able to stay open as long Their prices weren't that bad. Yeah, you could always browse and buy cheaper on the internet, but it was one of very few places which still had a time-warp appeal, which, for me, w...

I've checked back 10 pages and got fed up - please do tell, where were these? We never did actually give away the location. Could you give the location where they were located before the location they are located now? I thought it was the original location that people were wanting to locate,...

Re: Oddities

The cats have sadly been mistreated lately. The perpetrators might have enjoyed a whiff of the crushed asbestos abounding at the site? Hopefully not, but at least a fly-zip / foreskin incident would be justified. https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8607/16496218326_3092edeb79_c.jpg Did I ever show you t...
