Lots of Merchant City bits and of in and around Glasgow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r28jOeDbLgU Not really. The director chose Glasgow for its bleak, p...

Re: Southern General Redevlopment

Thanks. Yes it was a weekend, but it kept pissing down so I gave up before I covered the whole site.
I just copied the information from the "planning your visit" type pamphlet - I don't know the SG very well at all, but I could certainly recognise the former nurses home as such.

Stobhill Hospital

According to the plans, they don't intend to retain very much: https://publicaccess.glasgow.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=MSYMSLEXW4000 Some parts are still used, for non-patient use, notably the old management building where facilities are still usi...

Belmont House was bequeathed to the hospital after the death of Sir Hugh Reid in 1935 on the understanding that it would become 'The Marion Reid Home for Children' in memory of his late ...

I've never seen that woman in my life. At a guess I would say Marion Reid.

Re: Southern General Redevlopment

the old central canteen was demolished along with the psychogeriatic unit (latterly the management building annex) and the old stores department. Demolition of other areas has started to pick up. The original casualty (on the corner of the site), which was latterly a chest clinic has just gone. The...
