Is the building at the end of the dock with the tower the one you mean? Always thought it was for the harbour master or something.

Does this watchtower still exist? I've never noticed one in the Merchant city before. Where is/was it?

I've been using Google Earth for a couple of months now, and got annoyed by the lack of high resolution photos of Glasgow. So I decided to take matters into my own hands. I found various aerial photos of the city, and added them on. They're not quite as good as the Paisley area, but are much better ...

Overall, a lovely picture has been painted of the Solid! ::): It's no bad - good if you're in with a bunch of mates havin a pint, so you don't notice how manky the place can get. It's one of my regulars, but I'm only in a few times a month. Don't think the Vampyre society meet there any more, since ...

When I worked in a shop in town, I met quite a few famous folk. Had Robbie Coltrane come in looking for some bits and pieces, and started telling the staff jokes about his (ex) wife. ::): Met Amanda Mackinnon from Bis and Beat 106 come in a while back, then made a swift exit when she saw the prices!...

False facade in Carlton Place

Evening folks, If you stand on the suspension bridge over the Clyde, looking south, you can see 2 rows of buildings on Carlton Place which appear identical. But if you look more closely at the row on the left, you can notice something odd. The windows of the central section (if I remember correctly)...

Nice one. Think I'll go see The Elephant Man, and Nightmare before Christmas. These things are always better when you see them on a big screen, and not just on a wee 14" telly. I missed seeing Dark Crystal when it was playing at the Grosvenor in the spring, so I'll make time for these. Thanks for th...
