Re: Workplace Hates

Ok gang, hold on to your bunnets, this one's a corker. This afternoon at work, we're all working away quite the thing, counting down the minutes until chucking out time, when one of the guys at another table finds something weird in the file he's doing. Ready for this? A plastic specimen tube, with...

Re: Merry Xmas!

I had the same concerns; even though I post little of consequence! It's nice to trawl through old threads and reminisce over topics past.

Oh, and a very (late) merry chrimblemas to you all!

Re: Whit's fur tea?

A rarity for me, posting in this thread! Was through in Leith visiting my daughter, and after a wee trundle around Jupiter Artland, we ended up in Newhaven for tea. When we've been before, we went to the fish'n'chip restaurant (not the Loch Fyne one though!) but last night she preferred the Mexican ...

Re: Chicago meatpackers Glasgow

Must have missed this first time round! Am I right in thinking Meatpackers was at Central Station, near the Hope Street entrance? Up a small flight of stairs? And with the wee 'steam' trains running round tracks on the wall? I hope so, because my girlfriend (later wife) and I used to love going ther...

Re: Am I the only one?

Spleen, You might have a point there. I remember doing my Cycling Proficiency Test many moons ago and I think I was in a thing called The Tufty Club in primary school. I think it was to encourage children to cross the roads safely and looking left and right etc. That's quite right, as I remember it...

Re: Edinburgh

There are quite a number of very pleasant parts of Leith walk these days Dot, and none of it is particularly unsafe. My daughter lives in Leith now, and loves it there! She often walks from there up to the Playhouse or even Waverley to meet me and we'll go for a meal or a drink. There are also a loa...

Re: Workplace Hates

But the thing that's annoying me most - and I'll have to say that strictly speaking we're not supposed to read this stuff - is that the social workers can't bloody spell! They continually get "their" mixed up with "there", and there's been cases of them spelling someone's name t...

Re: Boredom Thread: What advert drives you insane?

The absolute worst has to be the current Head & Shoulders ad;

"I didn't know you had dandruff" says random eejit.

"I don't" says the 'hero' of the piece, usually as he carries out some totally unlikely or stupid act.

Drives. Me. MAD!

Doorstop

Wasn't sure where to put this, so apologies if it's incorrect. I wanted to let those of you who remember the very excellent Doorstop, aka Ross, and don't use Facebook, that last Wednesday he sadly succumbed to the cancer that has attacked him over the past several years. Unlike some/many of you here...

Re: Not really interesting facts about yourself

Wishing your wife (and yourself) a good response to treatment Mercury.

And to anyone else who has been touched by this virus, may your issues be minor and short-lived.
