Re: Not really interesting facts about yourself

I'm left-handed for writing, using a spoon etc, but right-handed when playing snooker/pool.

Re: Driving in the Dear Green Place.

A comment I heard many years ago springs to mind reading this thread;

"Not every pedestrian is a motorist, but every motorist is a pedestrian".

Something to think about.

Re: Peregrine Falcon M8??? Perhaps!

Getting back to the OP - are we sure it wasn't a Golden Eagle? It's the only large raptor I can think of with a yellow beak. I know it's a bit far south for their normal habitat, but the other birds with yellow beaks would be too small, going by the description.

Re: The A80/M80

Where the hell have you been? aye, where have you been, i've missed you. Agree with the A80, grew up in noddy land so had the joy of it every day from the age of 17 onwards. Re: The Hidden Outlands of Cumbernauld

My other half used to stable her horse at Wester Glentore, just up the road from those adits, but she's never heard of them; she's lived here (Cumbernauld) for over 25 years too.

Might go and have a look if the weather holds up this week.

Re: Hidden Britain?

Hidden Bristol / West Country I'm flagging this thread up because it's been two years since... I know I rattle on about that part of the world and it's not always appropriate to this site. I hope that one day the franchise will extend to that west-coast port city and 'round abouts; there's plenty i...

Re: Best Town in Scotland?

What's it called? Nah, just my wee joke! North Berwick has to be up there for me, but like some others, towns don't really do it for me. The forests up by Aberfoyle are terrific, and Glencoe is pretty cool too ...... but the No. 1 for me has to be Torridon in Ross & Cromarty. Remote, awe-inspiri...

Re: Clyde Model Dockyard

I remember the Argyle mode dockyard under the 'Umbrella' very well - I got all my 1:24 scale Airfix aircraft models there, as well as some Tamiya F1 cars and my first R/C car - a Porsche 935 RSR Turbo if memory serves. Jamiesons is quite a good wee shop - with the emphasis on "wee"! I foun...

Re: INTRODUCE YOURSELF

Just joined about 10 minutes ago. Stay out in Cumbernauld now, but work in a salubrious part of North Glasgow.. when I'm not off on the sick!

Looking forward to getting to know some of you - what I've seen, most of you are a wee bit mental..... 8O 8O
