Re: Glasgow Airport Terror Alert

Smeaton might well be getting set up by this rather unknown 'Jury' mob but is he really any worse than the selectively hand picked candidates of the two main parties? Two dudes who it would seem have never had a real job in their lives, and apart from that have never got anywhere near kicking an Ar...

Re: Glasgow Airport Terror Alert

Its a crazy world we live in, celebrity and politics, never the twian should meet, ever. I don't mind Smeato having his hour of fame but there are many issues in the NE of Glasgow that the guy will have no idea about. I'd like to ask him how he plans to tackle the poverty and generational unemployme...

Re: asylum seekers

I was involved in a project years ago in teh gorbals involving local residents and mentoring them regarding families and bringing up children with extra support and guidance. I thought this was a great idea as you don't get a book to teach you about kids. :) Were you mentoring or organising it? I'v...

Re: asylum seekers

I'm glad to hear about the mentoring project. :D It's a brilliant way of encouraging people to get to know each other and find out how much they have in common. Also to realise just how much hardship and danger so many people undergo to escape their own countries, and how much they miss the people ...

asylum seekers

I was looking over some of the threads here and reminded myself about some of the not so good reputations Glasgow has. I think its a shame and it's the same old story about bad news sells. That Fred McCauley is a pratt talking constantly about neds, no wonder people get their backs up with these up ...

Re: Anyone know Campsie/Lennoxtown?

I can't get a closer look but that map is great. I'm not sure now if I've got the right spot so I'm going to go back and try to pin it down.

Cheers, for not being nice to strangers, you guys can pull it out of the bag :D

Click on this link to Bing maps. There's a few "holes" near the mast. http://www.bing.com/maps/default.aspx?v=2&FORM=LMLTCP&cp=55.985475~-4.202244&style=h&lvl=18&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&phx=0&phy=0&phscl=1&encType=1 Could be a kiln? Could be an...

Anyone know Campsie/Lennoxtown?

Hi all , I'm new. I came across this site when I was looking for a place in the campsies to find fossils. Today I found fossils at a place above Lennoxtown, in the fields beyond the telephone mast just right of and up the Crow Road. I also saw a buried circular stone wall further on my way back near...
