Two crackers for Christmas: "Glasgow, the Autobiography" edited by Alan Taylor and "Glasgow in 1901" (reprint) by James Hamilton Muir. Both highly recommended.
Terrific selection of fish at Tesco's in Shettleston today: lots of whole fish and odds like skate wings and sprats. Bought dogfish and the guy gave me a discount as I was the first person to buy it.
Bolognese with pappardelle. Made the ragu last night, it's even better on the second day, like most stews. Made bread while I was at it: two focaccia and a white loaf.
Shit loads of minor celebs at 'Let's Eat Glasgow' food festival the other day: Seamus McInnes (Cafe Gandolfi); Sean Biggerstaff, actor; Sanjeev Kohli and Ken McClusky among others.
