They had moisturiser in pump dispensers in the toilets. Remember being told by a gruff ex-miner to use the stuff as the de-humidified air i...

Re: Would Ye!

Been glued to France 24 recently for the youthfully authoritarian voice of Hanah Moffat. What a twinkle she has. http://i864.photobucket.com/albums/ab204/bing_buzby/H12989668981234461_3.jpg And back in the day on the BBC. http://hub.tv-ark.org.uk/images/bbc_yorkshirelincs/images/news/looknorth_lunch...

Re: What Are You Currently Reading

The Bride Stripped Bare - Anonymous.

Been reading too many 'serious' books recently and so this one tickled my interest. Hope it lives up to my low expectations.

Re: IDS calls "War!" on the Great Unwashed.

Food for thought.... Indeed, it is the oldest trick in the book that those with money claim they have none. The 'faux poor' have been around as long as money itself. And companies do it all the time, create a culture of 'times are tough' so to get away with paying a damn site less than employees ar...

Re: Links to funny, cool or interesting stuff

It was supposed to be a testimony to one mans vision and wealth, visible from space, a modern wonder of the world.

Then the credit crunch happened and construction stopped.

Today it just looks like an old Arab having a wank in the sea:

Re: A close shave

There used to be a place mid-way down Byres Rd that would do a proper shave, but not sure if they are still in business/moved.

Re: MPs expenses

Oh well, looks like Jim Devine will be leaving one house of crooks for another. Hands up who didn't see this coming.

I must admit, the entry on his voting record regarding parliamentary transparency give me a chuckle:

Re: A book'n'whisky

As a money saving tip, do not put off buying Dickens until you land in Pakistan* or Talisker for you arrival in China. Both suit the environment but cost stupid money. *Not the most I have been overcharged for a book, that belongs to Orwell in Norway, but shit, apart from breathing everything costs ...

Re: random question

Just curious if anyone on HG uses those Groupon offer/vouchers for discounts on things? No, but suspect one day they will be as welcome as Borders gift vouchers. But to anybody who thinks that vouchers are a good idea: >>>Not a lecture directed at you Dot :-) <<< If you don't know what would make a...
