The Regal/ABC in Hamilton is also away this weekend. Pictures of destruction here. I missed the actual demolition of the facade, I think they did it on Saturday.

I was up there on Friday. Work is progressing on the southern most building in the main group. It now has a new roof, windows and internal floors (and walls etc as well presumably but i didnt go inside). I think it will look rather good when finished. As for worse developments, well you only have to...

I really like it too, like molendinar says, its really simple, and also well proportioned. When you look up at the blank sides since theyve been painted, it almost disappears into the sky. It would look so much better without the residential block over the road. That one is ugly, and bears no relati...

pparently there was a plan to convert it to flats some years ago. I dont know if thats still on the cards. The developer wanted to build new houses nearby as part of the project, as a sort of subsidy i suppose, but couldnt get permission. Is the Belhaven Mausoleum the one in/near Dalziel Park? Ive b...

Yeah its pretty shocking that its gone that far downhill in only 20 years. When did it burn down, was it still occupied at the time?

Is the mausoleum the one at Dalziel Park? Or one associated with the Priory?

Cambusnethan Priory

Some photos of Cambusnethan Priory (AKA Cambusnethan House) that I took over the weekend. Its near Wishaw on teh edge of the Clyde Valley floodplain. As you see the place is in poor shape, and appears beyond hope of re use. http://www.flickr.com/photos/96424614@N00/sets/394674/ Info at: http://www.b...

I've put a few of the better ones here . It was a bit rainy, and i was only really taking them for my own use as a reference, so theyre not great pictures. They contrast well with Captain Brittles aerial shot above 8O . I wouldnt be much use for getting you in to the site! I am not up there much - I...

I am currently working as the landscape architect for the 'Gartloch Village' redevelopment. As I understand it, the developers initially couldnt afford to do any renovation until the new build starts selling. The new build is basically subsidising the renovation, as theres no profit in the latter, a...
