Re: Pets and other beasties

Dave, dogs have owners -- cats have servants.

Re: Anyone had a peek at the refurbished Kelvingrove yet ?

I agree with what's been said above. The museum is not what it was, unfortunately. But it is the Centre of New Enlightenment which has been nominated. I haven't seen it and not much likelihood of me getting down to have a shufty for quite a while. Has anyone here been to it?

I've voted. It's not looking good for Kelvingrove though. :(

Re: Pets and other beasties

Hi Wullie! Lola sounds like quite a character. Hope your girls live long and happy lives with you. If I come across any pics of the boys I'll post them here. They were characters too. Every morning they would be at the top of their tank waiting on their toast. They looked so cute sitting there munch...

Re: Pets and other beasties

Wonderful, Saltirepride. Here's a pic of one of our boys. Sorry about the quality. We had three too. All boys. Great pets. I can only find a pic of one of them. This is Basil, the other two were Dr Dawson and Fidget. We all loved them, even the cat. She would spend hours in front of their tank watch...

Re: Pets and other beasties

"I'm looking for the best non violent method of keeping a cat out my garden. It's shiting everywhere." We bought a thing to deter animals from the garden. It is on a spike which you put into the ground near where you want to discourage anything. Then attach the other bit of it to the garde...

Re: Tenement Life

I think it was built on the site of the Roxy. I remember the name but not the cinema. It was demolished when I was 7 or 8.

Re: Pets and other beasties

Hiya Blueboy, you could try the Cats Protection League. They aim to home unwanted pets and kittens. They usually come either spayed or dressed or you might get a voucher to have it done if the cat is too young for the operation. You could also try the Scottish Society for the Protection of Cruelty t...

Re: Police caught acting shifty.

This is a wee bit off topic but . . . I've been researching my family tree and but for the resourceful people at Tayside Police would not have a photograph of my great grandmother. A few years back an archivist had been working there and she wanted to throw out all the old mug shot books from the tu...

Thanks mrsam. I lived on Huntly Gardens for a wee while and the picture reminded me of it. Many thanks for the offer of a pint. If we're ever in Stirling we'll let you know. :D
