Re: Mori Has Passed Away :(

Azim, I'm very sorry for your loss. Your Dad was a great guy. There's a tribute thread to your at SkyscraperCity, another forum where he was a prolific and valued contributor (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1658118). It's clear that he meant a lot to a lot of people, including those ...

Re: Who’s been in Taggart?

How does one get to be an extra on Taggart? I'd love to be in it.

Been in Hamish Macbeth though.

Re: Project: The Great Eastern

Same thing I've just posted at SSC, but thought it might be of interest here too. Re: below Glasgow School of Art Rennie Mac building

You did it all wrong - you should have said that you've heard rumours of a tunnel under Scott Street, got people all curious, waited for a few hundred replies, and then gone and taken all the photos.

source?

I mean, I wouldn't be entirely surprised if that did happen, but there have been no reports to suggest it has, and a project of this size does take a while to get to the construction phase.

Re: Post Office building

I think it would have been almost impossible to get consent for demolition of the facade.

The rooftop extension looks weird... the curves would suggest it goes all the way around the building, when of course the extension is only the northern half, leaving it seeming somewhat trucated.

Re: Least attractive Glasgow Train Stations.

Like all but a few stations in Scotland, it's owned by Network Rail and operated by First ScotRail.

Re: Gay Glasgow

By curious coincidence, just last night I read this post about the Wasilla (Sarah Palin's hometown) library at The Stranger (Seattle's alternative weekly newspaper). And Tango Makes Three would seem to be the answer.

Re: Toilet facilities

I find places that have signs saying 'toilets are for customer use only' intently irritating. I mean, really, how much of a problem is it? It's right up there with people who have 'no turning' signs on their driveways.

Re: Gravestones in the Botanics

Well, that's that solved. Dear Mr MacKenzie The gravestones came to the Botanic Gardens from the Southern Necropolis in the 1950s and were badly damaged /broken at that time. Most of them were used to build a wall on the south side of the Kibble Palace (now removed) and a few have been used in other...

Re: Gravestones in the Botanics

Thanks for the suggestions - I may well try emailing them. For what it's worth, when my mate and I noticed them, an older gentlemen came up to us and started talking. He was of the opinion that they might be from an old graveyard in Anderston, that was cleared away during the construction of the M8....

Re: Anderston Centre

Anyone know if the rest of the bus station shots in Restless Natives are Anderston Bus Station? I suspect so, particularly from the reflections in the last photo, but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't Edinburgh's old bus station: http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b112/maccoinnich/hidden%20glasgow...
