Thanks! Yes, I've been doing a bit of research today and agree it is Saughs . http://www.majhost.com/gallery/purplepantman/Dougall/saughs_1890_os.jpg I'm glad you think it's worth a visit! Re: Concrete Structure in Pollok

C'mon guys! We can't just leave it at "a water tower". It's a Cold War communications building with secret underground bunker, missile silo and a railway tunnel leading to Dial House. It's also built on top of a medieval graveyard and is reputed to be haunted by the ghost of Wee Willie Win...

Abandoned/Derelict Farms

Can't see that a thread has been done about these before. There's hundreds of them out there and every one must have a story to tell. What about this one just off the M80 at Stepps? Anyone been to it? Photos? http://www.bing.com/maps/default.aspx?v=2&FORM=LMLTCP&cp=55.893966~-4.165728&st...

Re: Glasgow Graveyards

What a brilliant thread! Glad someone resurrected it (pardon the pun! :D ) I had my old maw out at New Monkland Cemetery yesterday. Thought you might like to see the pics I took of the old "watchmans hut". A relic of the days of the bodysnatchers - so they say! Someones obviously been usin...

Re: WWII Gun Emplacement near Airdrie

How dissapointed am I? This place never fired a shot in anger during WW2! In fact it only really came into use at the beginning of the Cold War. There also used to be an accomodation camp to the south. There's loads of these things around all over Central Scotland. They're all on the Secret Scotland...

WWII Gun Emplacement near Airdrie

Okay not strictly in Glasgow but only about 10 miles east. It was there though to protect the good people of the city from those nasty Heinkels and the like during WW2. I'd heard a rumour about this a few years back but could find out nothing about it. Then I saw this; http://maps.live.com/default.a...
