It was the Angus Cafe. The Bluebird was further up Pollokshaws Road, beside Queens Park.

I believe Willie McIlvaney is from Kilmarnock.
Campbell Armstrong's Glasgow thrillers are excellent, as is the work of Denise Mina, but I think Messrs Spence, Kelman and Gray are writers with more to say about life as it was in Glasgow in the 20th Century.
