Re: When Music Was Music. Frank Skerret Show

Didn't Frank make a habit of making sarky comments about Sidney Devine, before playing some of his tracks?

Re: Model Railways and other Wee Worlds

Thanks everyone, one thing that this build taught me is that there is absolutely no such thing as a standard Glasgow Tenement, there are so many subtle variations of stonework styles etc etc. They deserve a study all of their own.

Re: Model Railways and other Wee Worlds

I have built myself a tenement building for the layout, I took it down to the garden yesterday evening to take some shots of it in natural light, as the flash sometimes makes it look unnatural. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7147/26719606620_51125601f4_c.jpg https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7051/26960...

Re: One for the railway heads

Whilst looking for something else, came upon this site referring to locomotives being scrapped around the Coatbridge area. http://www.whathappenedtosteam.com/scrapyards-around-glasgow-by-roger-johnson-foreword-by-peter-hands/ Great find, mind you I had to post a few corrections, he had a couple of ...

Re: Glasgow Central Tours {Hidden Victorian Platform}

Having been down to the platform on the tour, the photographs in the article are all correct, except the caption for the fourth one down showing the stairs going down from the main station platform, these do not go down to the disused low level platform, they go down to a corridor that links platfor...

Re: Remains of Monkland Canal

Would anyone want it? It was filled in because it was a rat infested death trap that everyone was glad to see the back of. Can't see any local support for any reopening

Re: Model Railways and other Wee Worlds

Inspired by the above model I am trying to build my own model of a Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire Railway Island Platform Station building, so I am looking for help with any photographs of the station buildings at Yoker Ferry, Scotstoun East or West as these were narrower than Kilbowie and would fit...

Re: Glasgow railways... if..

If you are in the area about 15:45 in the afternoon you should see a train in the line, it is used two or three times a day for empty stock transfers between Eastfield and Corkerhill. It should have been brought back into use as part of the Clyderail report but was shelved at the last minute as a co...
