Re: Sloan's Market

The idea for a regular Sunday market stemmed from a Christmas market which was a huge success. A one-off market was also held during the summer which featured a small bar and a massage area. See what happens if you read all of the article See what happens when a smart arse has too much time on his ...

Re: Sloan's Market

They've been running irregular markets there for the past couple of years, now, mainly at Christmas and Easter I think. Our mooshimooshisan will be able to elaborate, but this isn't anything new. Regular is new, yes, but not having a market there.

Re: Celtic Connections

Has anyone been/going to any good gigs yet? Teenage Fanclub tonight :D All we could hear at the Whisky Tasting was Teenage Fanclub soundchecking through the wall behind us. Possibly a good thing, depending on your personal thoughts, but maybe not so good when the wee guy from Bunnahabhain had to sh...

Re: Ibrox Park Redevelopment

Can't they just demolish it and leave it at that? ::): *cries at having to fork out £38 for the Barca game... God bless ticket office fuck ups' £24 8) Nah, mine was definitely £38 (for the forthcoming game at Parkhead, not the previous game at Ibrox). On the other hand, if they get a railway statio...

Re: Celtic Connections

Apparently King Creosote at the ABC was great last night - I wasn't there, though.

I'm going to the whisky masterclass at City Halls at 4pm today. That's going to be the best gig ;)

Re: Cleaner Enviroment

This links in very well the the thread regarding trams - that's how you cut down on the fumes in places like Hope Street. No buses - trams only.

Re: Cleaner Enviroment

Jimmy, I don't drive, have never driven and will never drive. However, I don't think that illegal parking, annoying as it is, has any great relevance to pollution levels. If I remember correctly from a long-ago read study, the most heavily polluted streets in Glasgow are Hope street and the like. T...

Re: The Barras and its future

As I mentioned earlier I believe that a lot of the stallholders themselves are simply not moving with the times. They are selling a load of stuff that you can now pick up online for a fraction of the price for the comfort of your own home.

Re: Squinty Bridge Closed

I panicked the first time I walked across that bridge and didn't know why my balance was going all funny.

Re: The Real Glasgow Conspiracy

I worked on this website, and while I didn't do any of the research nor have I read through all of it, the introduction to the Bruce Plan states: The Corporation knew a powerful anti-Glasgow momentum in government planners and politicians existed. The Corporation knew powerful forces planned, in tac...
