Re: A wee wander down HG Lane

... was searching to see if there were names for the various small islands in the river from Lanark downwards. I found out that there were some (called 'Inches') within the city boundaries. One of these was 'Whyte Inch' whose name has of course survived. Intriguingly there was also one called 'Ron'...

Re: HG Movie Critique.

Just back from seeing Dune part 2 at the IMAX in Silverburn, and I have to say it is just magnificent. Easily the best film I've seen in the last year or two. More deserving of Oscars than Oppenheimer IMO. Great cinematography and an outstanding soundtrack from Herr Zimmer. I really want to go and s...

I had to look up Simpson's Rule, and I still don't understand it! If he could explain that in simple terms, he must have been truly formidable!

Re: Posting to these forums

Yeah, it's pretty quiet on here these days, Dot. But then, most forums are the same. All the action seems to be on the Facepalm page.

Nope, too many tracking links for my liking. I'm on Mastodon though, I think that's the future of social networking.

Merry Xmas!

Jolly Thing, HG peeps! What a nice gift to find that the forum is back online after being gone for months - huzzah! I actually thought you'd pulled the plug on it completely.

Thanks to whoever jiggled the bytes behind the scenes to resurrect things. 8)

We started watching that as well, and are also not sure what to make of it. But Ruth Wilson is doing a fine job, so we'll probably keep watching to see how it turns out.

Re: Druid Glasgow

Discovering Provan Hall: A Glimpse into 15th Century Scotland.
A few weeks ago I attended a sneak preview of the refurbished Provan Hall on a visit with the Glasgow Archaeological Society.
Provan Hall is a crossing point of three alignments in #GlasgowsSecretGeometry.

Re: What are you watching?

Well tonight went out to see the new India Jones film Just back from seeing it at the Imax in Silverburn. I'd give it a 7/10, I'd put it somewhere above Crystal Skulls and Temple of Doom, just a wee bit shy of Last Crusade standard. Nowhere near as bad as some critics have been putting it. Even a w...

Re: Not really interesting facts about yourself

Hell, anyone who can come on stage at 75 to play and sing for three hours straight deserves respect. The band didn't look much younger either, mind you! ::):

So you won't be interested in my wee 24 minute megamix redux of the show then?
