Re: Glasgow Zoo

Found these on flickr. They show the derelict polar bear pit. This is my one memory of visiting Glasgow Zoo as a child and it really is chilling - it was horrible to look down into that pit and see a bear in there by itself! http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1189/529694646_dc4b6098bf.jpg?v=0 http://far...

I think I'm right about Strathclyde's ...

Since this pic was taken, the land has been almost completely cleared to make way for the Commonwealth Athletes Village. Stra...

Re: INTRODUCE YOURSELF

Hello. Names Kenny, live in the Southside and have an ever deepening interest in the history of Glasgow. Incredible how many great buildings have disappeared to be replaced by what can only be described as monstrosities, the Aurora building in Bothwell Street a fine example! Looking forward to findi...

Re: Lost Football Grounds

Thanks Josef. I already have those photos apart from the colour version of Peasie Park. I attended the old Petershil Park a number of times before it was demolished and it was one of my favourite grounds. It was a shame they replaced it with the soul-less plastic venue now situated on top of the hil...

Lost Football Grounds

Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and am having loads of fun trawling through all the old Glasgow stuff. I find all this stuff fascinating - always have done - and in my job as a delivery driver I see plenty of Glasgow and evidence of what once was part of our city. Was wondering if anyone could...
