Re: Formula One

See me, I would get rid of Bernie Ecclestone. The guy’s just a brainless weasel who exerts far too much power and influence not always for the better of the sport.

Re: Would you mind taking a look?

An excellent set of unusual and interesting photos. The spiral stairs are just great.

Re: Sharon!! (Wid ye NO)

Has anyone tried drinking Concord wine? Asked for a ‘nice bottle of red wine’ in a wee Glasgow corner shop. Had the bird (now wife) coming around and wanted to impress. She was shocked when I produced my Concord!! Someone later told me it was a favourite tipple of jakkies!!

Re: Bring back the ......

I’m convinced Pedigree Chum and Campbell’s Meat Balls are exactly the same product except with different labels!! Both are 80p a tin, 4% fat and look like shit.

Re: How has the "credit crunch" affected you?

My pension is well and truly stuffed. A few months into the credit crunch, it had lost 7 grand. I am too frightened to look at it now. So much for planning ahead for your retirement!!

Re: virgin broadband

I also have problems with VM email. Bought a new computer few weeks back and I had no problem setting up the broadband. But re-setting up my email accounts was just a complete nightmare. Although I have set up my own, I cannot set up the email accounts for the rest of my family using Microsoft Outlo...

Re: Formula One

Had good fortune to win seat at 2008 F1 at Silverstone. Was in a seat opposite pit lane and on start/finish straight. A prime seat to say the least!! Start of race was fantastic. Thereafter it was a procession of cars hammering down this straight which was really good to watch. Lewis Hamilton won th...

Re: Interior of St. George's Tron Church

Certainly looks good. I am not convinced the pews and other interior woodwork should be painted with gloss paint. A pity the wood was not restored to its original form as shown in the third of HollowHorn’s first set of pictures. But nonetheless good job.

Re: below Strathclyde Uni

Toomse,
these are great pictures. Couple of Qs:
Where did you get access?
What building are you under? Some of the brickwork looks fairly modern, so at a guess it's not under the Royal College!!

Re: Camcorders for 2009

I would think any well known brand camcorder would be fine. Whatever you do, check out whether there is a discount available. Try: http://www.myvouchercodes.co.uk/home Hope this link works. I bought a microwave oven. Comet online had it discounted with an online voucher code. Salesman in shop gave i...

Re: Last Famous Person You Saw On The Streets Of Glasgow was...

I was out for a meal in Glasgow. Went for a pee, Paul McStay came in and had a pee two urinals away. I also stood beside Davie Dodds of Rangers in a pub in Shawlands. I think he was a coach at the time. Andy Cameron crossed right in front of my car at a pedestrian crossing again in Shawlands.

Re: Apollo - Greens Playhouse

Saw many brilliant bands at the Apollo in the 70s and 80s. One memorable concert was Steve Hillage. Got free tickets if I remember. Not a great concert as I had never heard any of his music beforehand. However, it was the first and only quadraphonic concert I have ever attended. There were the usual...

Re: Scottish food

Highest life expectancy for any country in the world is Japan I believe. They eat loads of raw fish, rice and vegetables. Man, they just don’t have a clue!! Thank God I live in Glasgow.

Re: Overland

Does anyone remember "The Magic Bus". I travelled with them London - Athens in the late 1970s. It took three days. I really enjoyed the outward journey travelling across a Europe through the Mont Blanc Tunnel. Coming home was awful. I was skint and had a carrier bag of food to last three d...
