Re: Glasgow By Night

Sorry guys, a serious dose of "real life" got in the way there... :) First one is Carmunnock, Second is Cathcart Old Parish, and Third is Necropolis. Would anyone else fancy a wee HG grave-robbing trip at some point? Safety in numbers n all that. :? Here's another Glasgow By Night that's o...

Re: Wedding photography

I've done 3 or 4 weddings for friends. I am doing "my last ever wedding" next year (for a friend). I've never charged, or have only charged out-of-pocket expenses (e.g. fuel if it was reeaaaally far away). Generally I'd say "DON'T DO IT!!!!". I've been asked a few more times than...

Re: What Camera have you got?

Warning Nikon D50/D70/D80 owners : Do not go into Jessops and ask to have a look at the D700. Hilariously, my wife insisted I buy it there n then "because I work too hard and deserve a reward now n again". I was a perfectly happy (well, kinda) D70 owner... but I think it was a good idea. ...

Re: Camera Tripods - Your Recommendations...

turbo, I think I could use my manfrotto as a weapon, and it'd be completely unscathed anyway... couldn't say the same for the recipients of the tripod-inflicted justice though... I wasted a lot of money on tripods, starting with a cheapo one for my small digi camera, which I replaced when I got a bi...

Re: 120 film

I go to Snappy Snaps on Byres Road, they can do it on the premises (when the machine isnae broken!)

Am pretty sure I've put film in at lunchtime, and picked it back up after work at 5pm.

Cannae complain about the quality really, as I am an absolute disaster as a 120 photographer, ::):

Re: Hiking near Glasgow?

No, I never have. Where are they?

I'm bloody tempted to go looking tomorrow, or even this afternoon, rather than working!

Re: Hiking near Glasgow?

It's the bit just after the carbeth huts, when you've walked down the road and then over the wall/stile thing which apparently marks the water-shed from "flowing into the clyde" and "flowing into loch lomond". Am I right? Am I? The standard joke you must do, at this point, is to ...

Re: Odd (Underground?) Structure North-East of Carmunnock

Cheers guys.

So an underground reservoir tank? But what for? I'm sure it's all totally benign... or maybe that's what THEY want you to think?

Smoke. Glasgow South-East.

Crikey, I have just seen the biggest load of smoke coming from somewhere in the glasgow south-west region (Hillington-ish, perhaps even airport).

Any ideas, fellow HG-ers? Answers on a postcard.
