Re: I'm on the night shift...

Doing seven nights in a row, Sunday is the worst one though, a feckin 12 hour shift, total killer

I don't mind the nights, but dealing with contractors who either haven't a clue, or who should know better about procedures etc, can be annoying

Re: A wee legal query

Just to clarify guys, and those of you who have lost loved ones, my deepest sympathies go out to you. I was on a motorway, an empty one at that, so no chance of anyone walking across the road in front of me, if they did, then it's their fault. The road was clear with high visibilty, and it was a lon...

A wee legal query

Hi Guys,

I have been told if you are caught speeding, the police have to be on the same road as you, and that it is illegal to use a trap, on a bridge, where they use a speed gun.

I personally think this is untrue.

Any thoughts??

Re: Boom & Bust

I worked in the car factory in Linwood when the closure was announced. It seemed the whole of Linwood just went into despondency mode. Again at the time I walked into a job straight away, but thousands of my colleagues didnt. The next time around, I wasn't so lucky. That bitch thatchers policies wer...

Re: Boom & Bust

The company I work for has never paid people off, I hope that keeps going. One of the reasons I moved down here was because I was made redundant twice in six years. Since I came down here, I've never been out of work. Each job I went for, I got, and each job I got, I went up in the earnings scale. I...

Re: Forgotten Pubs & Club

You went to the Howff not for the exotic surroundings or wonderful clientelle, but just to see bands. And the reason we used to sneak in the back door, was we were usually quite drunk by the time we got to the Howff. :) There was never a happy medium in Glasgow where you had good surroundings, reaso...

Re: Forgotten Pubs & Club

Under agers are always easily impressed that they even get served. Watterson took the piss out of his customers and served it up as lager, warm lager at that. Jings isnt sarcasm alive and well in Glasgow... I certainly wasn't an underager DSC, not in the Howff days anyway, I used to go up the Tech ...

Re: Debt

Been reading some of the stories on this post, and some of them brought back very bad memories for me. I won't go into details, but these people http://www.cccs.co.uk were in effect, an absolute lifesaver for me. I had actually made arrangements to blow up one of the debt collectors harrassing me, a...

Retired Racing Greyhounds make great pets

Honest they do, great with kids, can be retrained to stop chasing small furry arses, and only about 40 mins exercise a day...

They are the ideal dog if you are lazy sod :)
