Re: Quick Hide The Telly!

Thanks Brigit,

I have exactly that problem just now - whoever had my number before I moved here must have run up quite a few debts, and I've even had companies on the phone refusing to believe that this number now applies to a completely different address.

Time to mention the lawyers! - Thanks

The new AIC singer's voice is very similar to Staley's - saw them at a festival a few years back and was impressed (unless they've got another new singer)....

Re: Not really interesting facts about yourself

I used to work with a fella called James James. Friend also claims that one of the girls in his office is called Eileen Forward.

Re: Service with a....

Slater Menswear. I'd send all shop staff here as part of their training programme. The staff have obviously been well trained in terms of basic customer courtesy (smiling, walking customers to the cash desk with purchases) and selling skills (offering add-ons etc - very rare to see a customer at the...

Re: Taggart to go?

When they started showing the old episodes on the cable channels, it was interesting to see just how many actors turned up repeatedly, playing different parts.

Alex Norton was a murdur victim in an early episode, so it'll be a shame to see it axed. What other city has a Zombie Polis?

Re: Extreme Weather

The rain in Dennistoun was setting the car alarms off. But if it hadn't rained, the neds would've done that anyway

Re: Laurel and Hardy night

Laurel was from Rutherglen wasnt he? Stan Laurel was born in Cumbria (Ulverston, I think), There's a Stan Laurel museum down there somewhere. Apparently, his old man ran theatres though, so the family were based in Glasgow for while (might be wrong, I wasn't paying that much attention to the progra...

Re: Glasgow’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Not a Glasgow band, but containing at least 2 Glaswegians - wasn't AC/DC's "If you want blood" recorded at the Apollo? Bon Scott can be heard asking if there's any virgins in Glasgow, during "The Jack". Can also confirm (post a few pages back) that Nirvana did play the QMU, thoug...
