Re: Least attractive Glasgow Train Stations.

Shieldmuir is my nearest station and i personally wouldnt use it i know of people who have been attacked crossing the bridge across the platforms and surprise surprise NO cctv or even any lighting I once got hassle in broad daylight on a train which I had boarded at Airdrie. The minute I sat down a...

Re: Least attractive Glasgow Train Stations.

This Dalmarnock station is fascinating! I'm going to visit it as well - its obviously a place of legend. Even the name "Dalmarnock" has an eerie, desolate quality to it.

Re: Hidden Cumbernauld.

I'm with you there Whangster. The town centre's a disaster area - the wholen thing book ended by two hypermarkets and edged with the sort of drive through fast food sheds that you'd normally find out of town. The clock (which was originally from St. Enoch Station and gifted to the town) no longer e...

Re: Depression

I've had troubles with Depression over the past two years, its more common than you might think. Apparently one in three people will have an episode of depression in their lifetime which they will need treatment for. According to my GP anyway.

Re: Hidden Cumbernauld.

I was in the Antonine Centre today and its none too impressive - surely the town and its people deserved more than this? Its just so half-hearted compared to other modern shopping developments such as Braehead and Glasgow Fort. There really isnt anything decent or worth seeing in it. On the other ha...

Re: Subway Sandwich Shops

Well I agree that a lot of humour especially 'Glesga' humour can be had on the subject of bigotry and on re-reading my previous post I think I was a little pious sounding :) Obviously as Dot has said there is the same problem in N.I. and in fact its probably a lot worse over there for bigotry than i...

Indeed! Also apparently a car park with a dual use although I cant comment on that as I've only ever been there in daytime hours.

Re: Subway Sandwich Shops

The whole religious bigotry thing we have in Scotland makes me shudder, its a shame that a minority of ignorant people give our country a bad reputation.

Re: Subway Sandwich Shops

I was in the Subway in Cambridge Street one day during the summer and there were loads of bluebottles buzzing about the shop and a rank smell and all I could think of was that where theres bluebottles theres maggots and where theres maggots theres rotten, decaying meat Yuck! I left without ordering ...
