Re: Belmont Crescent School

crusty_bint,

Thank you for the photos you posted. They are great.

Believe it or not my Mum attended Craigholme and later went to Laurel Bank.

I hope to be in Glasgow in the autumn so I must go and take a few photos.

Re: Belmont Crescent School

I have now inherited a picture which has label on the back which states school was at number 7.
I would love to see photo of the area as it looked in the 1920's.

Perhaps Robert Pool will come up with some suggestions.

Re: CENTRAL STATION DOC SERIES BBC SCOTLAND

I watched 'Great British Railway Journeys' on 8th May and Michael Portillo was traveling to Glasgow.
He was staying at the Grand Central Hotel and there was a piece about the station.

I expect it was on before and will be on again at some stage.

Re: The Girly Thread

I have a wedding to go to in November so hope I might pick up something in the sales before then. I'd like to get something I'll wear again so it will either have to be a nice dress or maybe a trouser suit. I want something that will be warm enough to stand around outside in but don't want to look l...

Re: Boredom Thread: What advert drives you insane?

Yes I think some folk disappointed when concert rescheduled.
Obviously no choice in circumstances but people said numbers were smaller than expected and event lacked atmosphere.

Re: What are you watching?

Old episode of Gavin & Stacey where John Prescott makes brief appearance.
Prescott said later that it had done more for his career than his many years of campaigning.

Have to agree with you there.
I think anything involving 'Elbow' is hard to fault.
Would love to go and see them one day.

Re: Boredom Thread: What advert drives you insane?

It seems some parents were unhappy with Amazon Christmas advert which showed a Dad with pile of presents. They thought it would spoil magic of Christmas for their children. Complaints were that it would make children question whether Santa was real. On the plus side for Amazon their advert was thoug...
