Re: What are you watching?

There is a mid nineties STV children's show that is often repeated on the fantastic Nightshift. It is an art based 'see, this is how it's done' type show. The presenters are quite young and I two of their names are a ginger haired guy called Gavin and a female with a huge endearing smile called Debs...

Re: Taking Photographs - The Legal Perspective

Taking photographs of kids you are working with is a nightmare due to the 'what if you capture a kid who you don't have official pictorial consent' quandary. The situation takes a fucking comical turn when a child; particularly one with minor learning or social difficulties, brings out a camera or c...

Re: Glasgow's Image - is it really time to be Hidden?

I understand both Egg Mans' Lucky Poets' position. The reason I made a point of stating that my perspective wasn't an issue based on either sexuality or party politics is quite simple. Following the unravelling of the Steven Purcell story I encountered the usual bigoted "well, that's typical of...

Re: Glasgow's Image - is it really time to be Hidden?

What further astounds me is that all the Glasgow Forums are quiet on this issue, most unlike us! Man cheats on partner? Big deal. It's not a political issue. Now if he were a strong opponent of single-sex marriage or a gay-basher, then it would be. In the same way that it would be if a proponent of...

Re: Glasgow's Image - is it really time to be Hidden?

Yesterday's fiasco with George Square 'Designs' and the Leader of the Council not agreeing with the judges left me bewildered then I found out I wasn't the only one. It appears the pundits think this could turn 'political'.... I opened my internet this morning to see that the Leader of GCC had been...

Re: The River Cart, Battlefield

Not sure if this is the best thread to post however I know people who live in the tennements on the south side of Cartside Street in Battlefield. There have been numerous reports if major cracks appearing since the start of the local flood defence scheme; which although it shouldn't need said were e...

Re: IDS calls "War!" on the Great Unwashed.

Watching the Parliamentary announcement and subsequent debate concerning the changes to Pensions I saw an atypically blase comment relating to the consequential cuts in running costs, funding and staff within the DWP. So that is the JobCentre Plus, Criminal Injuries, tax (for some reason), Social Ca...

Re: Would Ye!

Nigella has already been mentioned however this may deserve inclusion: Naughty Nigella's Kitchen http://youtu.be/o6DXz0MZP0E As I am being possibly sexist towards females with the above I may as well balance the universe by asking just what David Mitchell has that would attract Victoria Coren? I am ...

Re: Glasgow Murder Mysteries

I've recently been looking at both the Evening Times and (as it was then named) Glasgow Herald archives from around when I was born in November 1973. There appears to have been a murder of a seven year old boy at the end of October 1973 which led to a seventeen year old male youth being charged with...

Re: help needed in remembering pub name up sauchiehall stree

howdy folks, but before that we used to go to a pub across the way and down a bit and on the left on sauchiehall street...may have been the last pub on that side - and if I remember correctly there may have been a casino across from it ( I may be totally wrong on that part?) but I would like to kno...

Re: Annual HG 2nd of January walk.

Thanks to Guacho for such an informative walk and to both him and everyone else for the great company. Fantastic way to kick off the New Year. Poodiecat should try and market that Hunter's Tea as the subtle spices and oils truly compliment the drinks alcoholic kick. I needed a good day out so genuin...

Re: What are you watching?

Did anyone else catch the Alan Carr show on Channel 4 last night? Both he and the guests seemed genuinely pissed as, if I remember correctly, it was alleged with his last New Year special. He is admittedly a man who divides opinion but I found the show to be hilarious - and I viewed it whilst sober....

Re: Annual HG 2nd of January walk.

I'll be at Queen Street too, assuming my survival of Hogmanay and all that. Haha maybe we should all use that dreary phrase and say hope to see y'all there .................................. God willing! I used to work in the Civil Service next to a guy, who was only in his late twenties, who used ...

Re: Buses Today

Does anyone else find accessing information on the FirstBus website frustrating? I'm not a technophobe but it seems to be incredibly user unfriendly.

Re: Annual HG 2nd of January walk.

I'm happy to meet up at Queen Street guys. If the one train is cancelled then it seems First Bus are running a Sunday service.
