Re: "Nae Tie?" ~ Glasgow Bouncer School circa 1973

Thanks DS, saw that on FB but it was great to see Cherokee, Dirty Harry & Big Billy. It also looks like The Master was hiding in Glasgow in 1973.

Re: Old Cars etc Spotted

I can't add attachments for some reason tonight, so here is a Flickr link to a couple of crimson crackers from the west end last weekend (you can see both if you click the picture):

Re: Save the Egyptian Halls

Thank you Doorstop. It looks like Glasgow is getting near the point of no return with this building. I dread to think though what could happen when it is eventually renovated ( Mac, Notre Dame etc.).

Re: Farme Castle and Coal Mine

The lack of records is puzzling. Have you had a look at the NLS maps site?

I captured these screenshots of the area:

Re: Farme Castle and Coal Mine

Hi Big G,

You probably searched already but Google images has a few images of the castle and the colliery. On the plus point the Newcomen engine from the colliery has been preserved at the Summerlee Heritage Park so you can inspect it first hand.
Good luck with the project

Re: Tower Block Demolitions - Rolling Updates!

From what I have heard from GHA / Wheatley, the current demolition programme is complete. The blocks at Sighthill and Toryglen were the last planned demolitions for now.

Re: Urbex

A tricky one. Would they say if they did? I don't, but I think people are against publicising locations which could subsequently "went on" fire?

Just finished the new Das Boot. Very good, but as always with things these days left open for a next series.
