Re: Glasgow’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

looks like it's taken from the top of the stairs at park gardens but it's a bit too high so must be from one of the buildings on park terrace. kelvingrove park just at the bottom right and the sir henry wood hall spire in the distance. marzaroli had an office in around park circus.

Re: Glasgow’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Synchro Are you sure that Big Country did the Big Day thing?? Les Negress Vert (?) did. Deacon Blue were actually vairy good. Hue and Cry definitely did a set - I remember because they dedicated 'Ordinary Angel' to "all of you out there" and I remember being quite patronised and heckling ...

Re: Glasgow’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

IMO a top class pop single. Absolutely right - one of those Perfect Pop Moments. And now not so much Since Yesterday, but Remember It Like It Was Yesterday :D Yup, a class act. Rose sang with Current 93 (one number, Coal Black Smith) at the Arches Install festival a few years ago. She has sung with...

Re: Glasgow’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I played at Nightmoves in 1984 with a group called The Floor. REM had played there the week before and I was actually on the guest list but sadly couldn't make it along as I was recording that night. One of my regrets. It was an exciting place to play but a bit grim behind the scenes and someone pi...

Re: Glasgow’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Have we had a mention of The Soup Dragons yet? Bellshill me thinks, one hit, a cover of the Stones I'm Free, a song about a haberdashery salesman. The Jesus and Mary Chain are from East Kilbride, one major hit, Just like Honey, a song about a honey substitute sandwich spread popular at the time. ok...

I well remember the small downstairs lounge bar in the Norsk as I used to visit it regularly about 30 years ago. It had a typical cheesy early 70's decor as far as I can recollect. I've never been in the Variety Bar so didn't know it was no longer in use. It would certainly be fascinating to know w...
