I remember passing the Comet pub in Bilsland drive.It had no windows and looked like a bomb site.Its still there but I think it shut down a year or two ago although it looks the same as it always did so it might still be open

Thanks Alex.Just told about this site last week.Excellant site! I'm 45 and I'm too young to remember the pub .I would think that the pub will have been demolished in the '60's, but I'm not too sure!

I wonder if anyone or should I say anyone's elderly relations remember a pub on the Gallogate ,near the meat market,which has been demolished for many years called the tappit hen.My grandfather worked there and ended up managing it.Cheers.
