I'm annoyed that they chose a monday afternoon to do this.
Why not a Sunday so more people had the chance to go along?

And the regeneration has begun….with the demolition of one of the last original elements – The Washhouse and Baths. I went along recently and it was gone. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/JamesMc/Oatlands/P5061208.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/JamesMc/Oatlands/P5061209.jpg http://...

Oatlands is a strange case indeed. It was due to be the third CDA area in the Gorbals, but apart from a few streets of the worst slums being demolished, the plan wasn’t implemented. Here is Wolseley st, during some of that demolition in 1972 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/JamesMc/Oatlands/wo...

I used to go to clubs and play football in the PI as a lad, always liked it. Here are some pics from when i dropped in last doors open day. The place is slowly being restored, but there are obvious signs of wear and tear throughout. Some external detail http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/JamesMc...

Lets see if this sheds any light. An aerial shot of the area from 1962. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/JamesMc/PastPresent3/gorbalsaerial1.jpg Clearly the bridge we can see has a flat top edge. Is that an arched top edge just to the left poking up above the flat one? Come to think of it, the...

As Lordsleek said, Hospital st at this point has has been widened and re-angled.Where the tenements on the left stood has been curtailed. The bridge. I...
