Re: random question

Bridie wrote:Are the plastic rods not for rotating the blinds and the cord for moving them?

I don't see why they can't have a rod for both, given how the mechanism works.

Spare the rod...

Re: random question

Is it beyond the common sense of some parents to not have both a toddler and a noose knocking around? There are blinds where, instead of cords for opening them etc, they have wee plastic rods that you rotate. Or they could just not have blinds I guess. Toddlers can injure themselves on pretty much e...

Re: Computer Problems.

eBuyer are good, aye. Scan.co.uk are great too, especially if you get free delivery 'cos you're a member of AVForums, Hexus or a few other places. If there's something specific you're looking for, keep an eye on hotukdeals.com, but try to avoid any of the comments on the deals, the place is full of ...

Re: mmmm

I believe that when you go to reply or start a new thread, the server allocates you a token, and that token expires. If you take too long (did it myself, started typing, went for a jobby, came back and continued the post), you can hit submit but you get an error message instead of the post actually ...

Re: Kittens!

Aye, I did see a few dead fish in their tanks when I was in. They were busy, and I'm sure that fish do die, but if I was them I'd be pretty vigilant about scooping out any dead ones. Doesn't look very professional. Doesn't surprise me that their other animals aren't very well looked after either.

Re: The end of the world! Meteors...

The location of the dinosaurs didn't matter really. One sufficiently large meteorite could throw up enough dust and dirt to block out all the light from the sun, making the earth freezing, and stopping things like photosynthesis. Nae plants, plant eaters die. Plant eaters die, plant eater eaters die...

Re: Lost Retail Chains

Just the one shop. Crum himself is playing a lot of golf these days. Had to get a bit for my tumble dryer off what used to be Crum's spares a week or so ago. Still good service, but the opening hours on their website doesn't correlate to their actual opening hours on a Saturday, so I went into town...

Re: Kittens!

I doubt Hays pays £60 for a set of vaccinations. They'd be paying double what I can get them done for. (see the link in Giblets' post) I'd expect a pet shop to be able to get them done for less than what the average bloke on the street pays. I'm guessing the price is because both the pet shop and th...

Kittens!

I'm looking to get a cat, so I've been looking around. I don't care about pedigree or anything like that. I wouldn't pay 300 quid for a bloomin' cat anyway. 8O I'm looking on Gumtree, and I've told friends to keep an eye out if someone knows anyone whose cat's had a litter, but I've had no joy so fa...
