Is that last picture from just off Kilmarnock Road, heading into Newlands? Theres also a road which stretched from the top of Birgidale Rd in Castlemilk to the village of Carmunnock, but has now been blocked off at the Castlemilk end. I may be talking nonsense here, but I used to get taken to the football by my dad when I was a boy and I seem to remember a cobbled street with part of it cobbled in the shape of a leg kicking a ball. I remember the "wee sports shop in the lane" (think that's what it was called). I'm also fairly sure I got my first pair of fitba boots there. (Hi-Tecs' the same as Davie Robertson 8) 8) ) It was called "Crowleys" if my memory serves me right. Top class supplier of Pringle and Lyle and Scott jersey...

Hi glasgowgub I am not aware of any plans for the old building at the Victoria. I am sure that it is a listed building and needs to be treated sensitively. NHS Greater Glasgow are the owners of the building but would need to lodge any plans to demolish or redevelop any of the buildings. I know that...

Any attempt to label this a Celtic vRangers, Tim V Billy scenario is de...

Excellent pics. I see there is a fence surrounding the former kingsway (? )cinema at Cathcart road at the clockwork pub. Is this the next to go? Probably, but its a long story! There's been a fence up for about a year since the owners tried to get it demolished as a dangerous building. Council said...

I wasn't saying that you had to be RC I was just stating that there was a time when it helped and that although that time has now passed, the legacy of the 'jobs for the bhoys' culture remains.
