Re: Press

Two partisan drones moan about partisan drones from the other side. Yawn. And we wonder why people are put off politics?

Re: Not really interesting facts about yourself

If you're just trying to avoid booze, pubs are now legally obliged to provide tap water for free.

Re: Local Council Erections 2012

I see no reason not to take her at her word. "in order to broaden opportunities for the range of talent in the party and to raise the profiles of others aspiring to election" It would be good, IMO, for the sole UK parliament MP not to be the sole visible member of the party. Might also be...

Re: Local Council Erections 2012

A week after failing to make any serious impact in local elections, "The Greens won 34 seats during this month's local elections, a net increase of 11. The party won in target areas such as Reading and Dudley, and defended all six seats in Norwich. It was also third in the list of London-wide ...

Re: Local Council Erections 2012

On a more serious note - did anyone ever do anything official about that matter? I really think it should be reported. I forwarded my notes to a journalist I know on the Daily Record. Durachdan, Eddy Given that the allegations are against a Labour chap and the Daily Record is a staunchly Labour pap...

Re: Local Council Erections 2012

My relatively (in this case) uninformed guess is that we'll either get a historic low turnout and a sizeable Labour hold (enough for an administration) or a high turnout and an SNP council. I'll go for the former, given the complete political inactivity in my area. I'd suggest that the relation bet...

Out of curiosity, why is that? I'd have thought that Labour activists like yourself would be out pounding the streets more than ever this year given the threat of losing control of the council for the first time since, what, 1981?

Re: The Economist cover

I get the feeling that this is the kind of crap we'll have to put up with until the referendum.

I tale it you were up in arms about the wording of the '97 devolution referendum as well?

Re: Press

But Vince Cable has no responsibility at all towards the deal - that was taken away from him after he was caught on tape admirably declaring war on Murdoch. Shouldn't you be targeting Jeremy Cu..sorry, Hunt, who actually will be the deciding factor here?

Re: Mobile Phone Advice

If you're looking for a smartphone, which is bascially a phone made for web browsing, email, gaming etc, then the ones above are good suggestions. Expensive if you're on Pay as you Go though, most smartphones are £400 or so. Android is the operating system which most smartphones run on and it's very...

Re: Scottish Parliamentary Election 2011

SNP/SNP/Yes for me. My preferred outcome would be an SNP/Green coalition although I think it's pretty unlikely that the numbers will make that possible. And my thinking on not voting Green on the list is that the SNP/Labour seats will be much closer than the polls have suggested and, if it came down...

Re: Awsome internet savings,

There are three things I will never understand about Glasgow.

1. The Old Firm.

2. Voting Labour because yer mammy did.

3. The love for a Greggs sausage roll.
