Re: Project Updates: St Peter's Seminary

Is it still currently possible to visit St Peter's Seminary? I was wondering if the prospective redevelopment might mean the site has been closed off more thoroughly than before? Has anyone been recently? Thanks.

Re: best chippie?

Any thoughts on the best chip shop in Dennistoun or Haghill area?

One person recommended Benny's on the corner of Cumbernauld Road, next to the Lea Rig, to me.

Thanks!

Wasteground Locations

I'm doing a shoot this evening and am trying to think of some good accessible wastegrounds to use, preferably close to the city centre (though we do have cars). I'm shooting a large-ish group of folks (probably about 10 or so people) and that post-industrial urban apocalypse vibe would be good (mayb...

Re: Glasgow’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Can also confirm (post a few pages back) that Nirvana did play the QMU, though think it was as a support to Mudhoney, sometime in 1990-91. Indeed they did, think it was 1990 if memory serves. They were the headline act and the show sold out. I'm pretty sure muhoney were not on the bill. Was living ...

Re: Quick Hide The Telly!

I don't get frightened or intimidated by their letters, just intensely irritated to be veraciously accused of something I'm not doing, since I don't have a TV. The presumption right from the get go is that one has a TV and is deliberately trying to avoid paying the license fee and the tone is incred...

Re: Quick Hide The Telly!

That's just far too sensible. One needs something to get worked up about in life, it adds to the fun.

Re: Quick Hide The Telly!

Aye, they've pissed me off no end over the years, so I think I'll try for whatever petty fun I can muster from the experience.

Re: Quick Hide The Telly!

So, the TV licensing folks apparently called round earlier this evening, while I was still out at work, as there was a note left through the door saying "We said we'd call"... as polite as ever. It threatens that they'll be back soon to check on my suspiciously unlicensed premises. Do I ha...

Re: dennistoun zombie movie

I managed less than half an hour before having to turn it off. Utter crap. Not even amusingly bad in my opinion either, just bollocks.

Re: HBOS

It seems strange that in such turbulent times the Bank Of Scotland branch at the bottom of Sauchiehall Street is getting quite a major refit and expansion (into the ex-Music Zone premises upstairs, I believe).

Re: The 4 hour threat of a fine

When I was a child, the Safeway near us had barriers and a manned booth at the entrance/exit to the car park. A bloke in the booth would check your receipt as you left; parking was free with a valid Safeway receipt, but was charged for otherwise. It made getting in & out of the car park a dreadf...

Re: Any James Bond fans out there? Possible major bargain....

Worth a punt anyway. I've had friends who've have managed to pick up a couple of incorrectly listed bargains on Amazon.
