School that used to be a hospital

I recently heard that St Ninian's Primary School located at 2150 Gt Western Rd (opposite Knightswood golf course) was once a hospital? Anyone any information?

They used to be used by the council to house problem teens - teens over 16 that had problems such as drug addiction/alcoholism.
