Re: Sauchiehall Street after GSoA fire.

Music Zone will be the one you're looking for. They briefly had a store on Argyle Street in the old Tower Records store too, before closing down almost as soon as it opened when the company went into administration.

Re: Glasgow City Mortuary (CPM)

From what I've heard early June is the expected transfer date.

It will be interesting to see what becomes of it. I can imagine there are a lot of people who wouldn't feel comfortable working in a former mortuary;, even after a major refurb.

I'm assuming that's 2 of the same return tickets, or can you buy 2 completely separate trips at the same time?

Re: Best Curry House

I almost tried the Banana Leaf on Old Dumbarton Rd for the first time tonight, but didn't*; Is it still good and worth going back to try it another time? * There were 5 of us in our group and when we got there 2 of them were put off by the small size and the low-key surroundings. I particularly like...

Re: Borders

I like the Borders in Glasgow as it's a nice store and is open til late which is very handy for a browse. I noticed recently that it was in a Guardian review on the 10 best bookshops in the world http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2008/jan/11/bestukbookshops But like everyone else it seems, I hardly bu...

The Pantry, Byres Road

My heart was broken when I walked past and it looked like this place has closed down - with whitewashed windows etc. All the stuff still looks to be inside though.

Anyone know if it has indeed closed, and when or why it happened? Succumbed to the dominance of Gregg's I presume?

Mortuary on Sauchiehall St

Someone told a friend that the basement of the building containing the Bier Hof on Sauchiehall St was once a mortuary. This one here

Sounds like shite to me, but has anyone ever heard anything similar?

Re: White lights in the sky over Glasgow tonight 15th Sept 2009

Oh of course Jo, I'm not claiming to have produced statistically sound evidence in 10 minutes! A lot of those 1-10 posters will still be active of course, and a lot of them will have joined here for a specific purpose, been served, and left happily. I'm no uber geek but I've been on plenty of intern...

Cheers for the idea Foss,

Well there's 4047 members, but roughly 1975 have never posted.

So 2072 posting members... 1425 of which have between 1 & 10 posts (inclusive)

69%!

A really good point. It's behaviour you'd expect from teenagers on rock forum. Not mature adults with an interest in history, architecture and photography.

Re: White lights in the sky over Glasgow tonight 15th Sept 2009

Not really on topic, but does anyone have statistics on the number of posters who don't come back after say, 10 posts?

I'm willing to bet it's fucking huge with the hounding new people get on here.
