Re: Whitecrook STreet, Clydebank--still exist?

I've been able to see Whitecrook Street on google maps. Is There any way (online) to check who has resided at 55 Whitecrook from 1928 onward? MacFarlane and Simpson are both family names that lived at 55 Whitecrook.
thank you!

Hi Bob, Isn't it funny how everyone knows Mac?? lol--he's awesome. The poor guy didn't know what he was getting into when I sent him my first query years back regarding the Athenia! just to help me find a great grandmother who may not even have been working on the ship when it went down! Mac is the ...

I want to tell you about a site that has a slew of info about the Athenia--including passenger lists, articles, personal memoirs etc. it is http://ahoy.tk-jk.net/ this is MacKenzie Gregor's site and it covers all vessels lost...

the sports photo is just a camera photograph, with no writing on either side. the school portrait was obviously done by a studio, but the only clue is that lower left hand corner. I've been luckier with some of my grandmother's other pictures as they have studio names and locations on them, and I've...

here are the two photos. one of the grammar school class, and the other ? what sport or team or year is beyond me?

I followed the instructions for posting via photobucket, but I don't know how to make the pictures smaller once they get on this site.

I love the picture of Whitecrook Park! It reminded me very much of Marine Park in South Boston, Massachusetts, with its bandstand! I have at least one grammar class picture already scanned, but I've tried several time before to post pictures to this site, and I am absolutely not tech enough minded t...

just had a look at the above recommended site--very informative, and the schools listed for whitecrook neighborhood will give me a lead in tracking down the few grammar school photos I have from my grandmother. Thanks!

I never realized the contribution of the Merchant Navy (here, the Merchant Marines) until I started researching. The only way I ever knew of their contribution is that a lot of fellows here, during WWII, who were too young to join the armed forces, "dummied up" their ages and were allowed to go into...

I thought the sinking of the Orsa would get some coverage,at least in Glasgow, even with all the downed ships at the time, seeing as though most of her crew was from Glasgow. I believe Captain Simpson was married and resided in Hartlepool--married to a Doris Glendining(?). My only question regarding...
