Re: QE2 Launch

I recall that there was a lot of publicity around the new cunarder and excitement during the build up to the launch. I was in primary school and can remember a competition to guess the name of the new ship. I didn't have much imagination at the time and thought "Queen Elizabeth the Second"...

Re: Canon or Nikon?

I bought my first DSLR a couple of years back. My son already had a nikon which I had tried out a couple of times. At the time canon were doing a great deal on their entry level 400D. (Mainly because they had a new model in the pipeline.) I had used a canon compact up 'till then, so went into a shop...

PK

It was a red/grey navy sea-king. I saw it from Maryhill descending towards Anniesland, but couldn't see it land.

Elke I work with someone who used to work in the castle as did her mother from the mid fifties. My colleague had never heard this story and asked her mother who hadn't either. Lennoxtown and Campsie are a close-knit community and I very much doubt if an incident such as you described could have happ...

I was brought up in Fintry and my friend's parents owned the Clachan hotel. I can remember at weekends it was busy with folk from Kirky coming over the hill for a drink as their town was dry.
