Does anyone remember the old guy in the 70s/80s who played a tin whistle in the city centre. He was often in Buchanan street. He wore a tartan bunnet and trews.We were discussing early buskers from that period as there did not seem to be as many as there are today. He seemed to have the area to hims...

Coming back from city the other day on a 62 manky bus. The bus was so busy that the only seats were the one at the very back. The recent quake in Christchurch has seen my son and his wife made homelesss.jobless. They are lucky to be alive. If it were not for the dominating news on Gaddafi there might be more on NZ. I think you might be correct. If memory serves there is the HLI/6th batt carved above the entrance. I think the building has been converted into flats or possibly a muslim temple although I may be confusing that with a nearby ex-church nearer Newrton st and Dumbarton rd.

Fossil Grove

Out for a walk today we thought we would take a walk round the Fossil Grove in Victoria Park. Although it's getting on in the year there usually is some nice colour.. or so we thought. Shock, Horror. The fuckin place is an absolute mess. No flowers at all. No sign of any flowers for a very long time...
