Re: Queen Mary

I realize this is really dragging a thread from the depths but I thought it was the most appropriate place for this. A few weeks ago, me and SWMBO embarked on another road trip and as we started in L.A. it gave us the chance to stay on the Queen Mary. Just one night (which was probably enough to see...

Re: Sauchiehall Street after GSoA fire.

Apart from the area around Buchannan street and the Galleries the town centre has been a bit of a dump the past few years and I dont see it getting any better. People shop at home now or where its convenient. Banning cars from the centre will just drive more people out to shopping centers out of town.

Added some more footage from my Dads collection to YouTube.
This time its a collection of steam tours in the 1990's at Glasgow central and at Kilmarnock as well as some shots of trains arriving at central while he waited.

Re: Links to funny, cool or interesting stuff

Am I allowed to indulge in a little bit of self promotion? For the last 10 years or so I have been visiting and matching film locations. Last January I decided to pull them all together in one place and so came up with the domain name Rewoundandfound.com and set about building my own website. I have...

Re: Cafe Upstairs

Hello mucman, do you have any further details beyond what you have posted? Was the name of the establishment "Cafe upstairs" or is this just how she remembers it? Was it a Cafe or a dance hall? My first thought was the Willow tearooms on Sauchiehall street as this is indeed a cafe thats up...

Re: Some old Glasgow videos

Another then and now video. I am gradually posting all my film location sets on my new website Rewound and found (http://www.rewoundandfound.com) so I have been revisiting some of my older projects to watermark pictures and make them into short videos. If you have time, have a look at the site. I st...

Re: Virginia Street

They are there to stop delivery trucks from cutting the corner and potentially hitting people or the building.

Here is a short film about them;

Re: Wolfsburg, Germany. Volkswagen town.

Day 2 we spent the day at the Autostadt complex but first we stopped here. This was the site of the Tullio Cianeti hall. Basically a place where they would sell the dream of the KDF Wagen or Strength through joy car and now has a marble split window memorial. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1799/4310...

Wolfsburg, Germany. Volkswagen town.

Last week myself and two mates headed for Wolfsburg to visit the VW museum, Autostadt and take the VW factory tour. Day one was flying from Glasgow to Hannover via Amsterdam then use the very efficient railway system to get to Wolfsburg itself. The train station couldnt really drop you any closer to...
