Re: Connecting speakers to a tv

If you're looking to get better sound that the TV speakers give you then you're looking at getting a home cinema system or external amplifier. Just connecting speakers straight to the TV wouldn't give any better sound. Have a wee read here.... http://www.the-home-cinema-guide.com/ and the Surround S...

Fire Scotland Street

Another historic derelict Glasgow building - Another fire. This time old works building on Scotland Street next to Murgitroyds and Scotland Street School. Thank god it’s not the School which was what I first thought when I seen it! http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd457/helpmaboab22/image2....

Re: Can you identify this place

Great pic, and has changed much from then on both sides of the river. The picture I think will have been taken from what is now Mavisbank Gardens, between the Squinty Bridge and The Springfield Quay. The walkway is on accessible via the housing development as the river walkway is unfortunately gated...

Re: arseholes on wheels

only got 2 problems with cyclists, 1 too many dont bother wearing hi-vis or using lights, trust me a hi-vis tabard is probably better than a wee light for spotting you in the dark. 2 cyclists dont have to have insurance, any other road user must have and the purpose of this insurance would be ? You...

Re: Drumlins

There was a good programme by Tony Robinson on Channel 4, Birth of Britain, recently that covered that. They pointed some of them out from top of Glkasgow Uni tower. I didn't realise there were so many in Glasgow myself.

Re: arseholes on wheels

Oh this could be interesting.   As a pedestrian and driver and a cyclist I see all sides and yes there are many faults on all sides. It’s far from one sided as some think. The problems and causes are different for each side and the consequences are rather different too. I...

Re: joking

When I did my P.S.V., I was taught to leave a car door's width when passing another road user (no mention of horses in Knightswood in the mid 70s :P ). This isn't so different from the illustration shown from the highway code. It is a stupid illustration though, as I said, if you used that gap to p...

Re: joking

Away and behave yourself. If cyclists choose to use the public highway (such as it is), and why shouldn't they, they are bound by the same rules as every other road user. Suddenly changing direction without warning is bad practice, regardless of the mode of transport. If a cyclist suddenly veers in...
