Re: Star Bar and Ken Manners

The last i saw the Ken Manners guitar shaped signs, they appeared in a window of a pub in Govan in the late 90s/early 00s, after his stint at the Star Bar. They were there for quite a while.

Re: Queens Park - Hidden Bridge

Ahh the memories!

I used to deviate from family walks just to walk over that small bridge as a child.

Thanks for that.

STV's Bill Tennant and Fanny Craddock

The recent tv interest in 1970's telly chef Fanny Craddock got me thinking. When i was growing up it was widely believed that it was STV's Bill Tennant who made the immortal gaff "i hope all your doughnuts turn out like fanny's" at the end of a Craddock doughnut-making item on his show. De...

I believe Rush recorded a live LP at the Apollo.

Also, on a less famous note, Ice T's Body Count recorded 'Body Counts Live In The House' - released over a series of EPs - at the barras.

Also, AC/DC's later live album ( called simply 'Live' ) was partly recorded at the SEC.

Being a big newbie, i missed this thread when it was active. Could anyone give me details on how to find Laurel's mother's resting place. As a big L&H fan , i'd be curious to visit it.

Anyone also remeber Record Fayre? I believe the one is still open just up from Terry's Tattoos. There was also one in Stockwell Street and I'm sure there was one in Argyll Market. :D yeah, Record Fayre was originally in Argyll market, then expanded into the shops. Had a good stock of 'special itali...

In an attempt to 'update it' the clash-of-belief ideas in the original seem to have been replaced by a load of old rubbish about killer bees! This in a time when many would say that clash-of-beliefs is more relevent than it was in 1973. Anyways, my various mumblings on the subject of the original, i...
