Re: GRAVEYARDS......

Volunteer here, In the Western Necropolis Glasgow there are Commonwealth War Graves located there. In particular I have noted the 11 Australian Army Graves with a Major of the Royal Army Medical Corps at the centre of the rear line. The group are located on the main road from the gate to the rear of...

Busdriver, Just saw your post thanks. I had two Morris Minors at one point Maisy and Horace. They made a lovely couple. Kept Horace the Four Door Split Screen and sold the Two Door Saloon.

Re: Old Cars etc Spotted

Volunteer here, Spotted the Suzuki at the Hillhouse & Earnock Community Centre in Hamilton. The VRN looks awfy like a sentence which reads “UFO A Message”. Bonnybridge I believe is the hub of aliens landing reports but maybe we can now add Hamilton to that list. Having said that if you were an i...

Re: Miniaturisation

Volunteer here, Why is miniaturisation such large word? Here are some pics that fit the Forum. The Lego Bricks frightened me. Having played with Lego as a kid I was used to pieces you can pick up with one hand. The Miniature HMS Ark Royal reflects the cuts in defence spending. Note new Matelot’s uni...

Re: Away from Glasgow

Volunteer here, Thanks RDR, interesting to know. I noted the large wall mounted GR Royal Mail Posting Box in Crosswood Terrace near the turning circle on the east side of the village. Guessing that would be where the Post office would have been. Googled up and found this and tidied up the presentati...

Volunteer here, Tarbrax is a small village in the Parish of Carnwath, County of South Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is at the end of a dead end road off the A70 road between Edinburgh and Carnwath. A 1000 feet above sea level on the edge of the Pentland Hills. The one road in also gets you out. Shale Mi...

Re: Old Cars etc Spotted

Volunteer here, Spotted the Suzuki Vitara in Tarbrax, South Lanarkshire. Tarbrax was a Shale Mining Village in the last century. The Shale Works closed leaving the population without any work. There is only one road in and the same road gets you out. There is also Bowling Green with two lanes only. ...

Re: Pillar Boxes

Volunteer here, read your post MungoDundas. The three boxes you mention are placed there because Royal Mail had premisses there. The Houston Place box I can't picture. I'll give that a drive past. There was a Royal Mail Office on the Paisley Road opposite Houston Place. From the Royal Mail website: ...

Re: Away from Glasgow

Volunteer here, Thank you mercury I hadn't thought of that.

A colleague from my working days lived in the est End off Highborough Road in Clarence Drive or thereabouts in a flat.

One snowy winter a neighbour made a statute of snow in the form of the Venus De Milo.

Only in the West End of Glasgow.
