Re: Who Police's the Polis????

If you have a genuine grievance with the driving then you should attend at a police station and ask to speak to a supervisor to make a complaint. Depending on the seriousness of any complaint, it is investigated by either an Inspector within the same division or senior officers from the Professional...

Re: Norfolk Court Demolition

5 and 17 are being kept for the moment as dampness has caused 170 and 200 Sandiefield Road to take a higher priority. They will be emptied first. I'd imagine therefore that 54 and 66 Norfolk Court will be standing for a good while to come, as they will no doubt be demolished at the same time as the ...

Re: Glasgow Central Stop and Search

 ....in other words, the Police are getting fly to the fact that when they are 'going over the top' with such searches, many are just an excuse to levy power over the public....they are objecting to the possibility of someone taking a photo or video showing them 'up to their tricks'.... What a...

Re: Reg McKay

I found he tended to glorify criminal bosses and often wrote sycophantically about them. Anyone who volunteers to give people like Paul Ferris money doesn't really get my appreciation however.

Re: Do you feel defensive about Glasgow ?

^your second paragraph does actually point out a reason for a lot of the violence - territory. It's a rubbish and pathetic reason, but a reason none the less. Considering the amount of violence which does occur, you're unlikely to be a random victim of some thug. Most assaults occur between people w...

Re: red light spells danger

Aye, well a Killie taxi driver was sitting at a red light at the corner of Sturrock Street and Fowlds Street (the Tesco corner). After sitting for around a minute, a police car arrived behind him and turned on the siren and the flashing lights. Seeing that the police car had no way of passing, the ...

Re: Where did you grow up?

Renfrew from 1983 - 1986, then Kilmarnock until now.

My parents were both from Glasgow - my dad from Ruchazie and my mother from Simshill. I work in the southside now, Gorbals, Govanhill, Pollokshields, Toryglen, Shawlands, hence my presence on this board...

Re: Coliseum Cinema Fire

Had a look today; was taking some photos when approached by police wanting to know what i was up to. I've been wondering about this. I understand arsonists often linger in the area afterwards to admire their handiwork. You give criminals way too much credit in terms of intelligence. Stranger things...

Re: Number plate or speed camera?

Most of the Traffic police cars are fitted with their own ANPR cameras. Unless you noticed several traffic cars (which you didn't), it's unlikely to be an ANPR operation.

Re: Depression

I suffered from depression several years ago, for a period of maybe 3 - 4 years. I think it was partly to do with being single. Anyway, I got better (somehow, I don't know how) and met someone and I never thought about it for the next few years, probably because I was always busy. We split up last y...

Re: A wee legal query

Hi Guys, I have been told if you are caught speeding, the police have to be on the same road as you, and that it is illegal to use a trap, on a bridge, where they use a speed gun. I personally think this is untrue. Any thoughts?? Holloway If you are talking about speed guns, then no, they don't. Ho...

Re: Mallsmire Burn - Curtis Avenue tributary?

Steven, I'm also aware of such a burn in that area. I was under the impression it flows under Hampden park towards the general direction of Aikenhead Road police station, from Mount Florida School, at the junction of Carmunnock/Cathcart Roads. I remember looking at it on a police mapping system a fe...
