Leaving Partick going towards Govan, I was sitting on the left hand side of the carraige (on the outside of the subway) Looking down from the window, I'm sure I saw a load of white tiles (of course they were very dirty). From what I have read on HG, if I had been on the right side of the subway, i w...

I was on the subway twice over the weekend for the first time in ages and had 2 firsts: Sat - 2 car subway that pulled into Buchanan St. First time i've ever seen that. I think this may be due to some cars being away for a refurb and paint job in the new SPT colour scheme for the subway. Sun - Pulli...

Thanks folks. I had planned to do some Past & Present with them, but the copyright pish with Scran put paid to that. If I see any pictures that could be used, i'll post them up. I did have a small book on the line, however, it seems to have been mispalced when I moved house last year. It did hav...

Cazzie, Other than the hotel in Morar and the odd B&B, i don't think there is much in terms of accommodation. There are a few campsites just after Arisaig on the way to Morar, just off the old road. A few have statics. There are a load of B&B's and guest houses in Mallaig and if your feeling...

I would doubt if very much has changed locally in 25 years.

I stay on a site just north of Arisaig. My wifes parents have been going there for about 20 years or so, me for just 6. Fell in love with the place and try to spend as much time up there as I can in the summer.

Nice photos Renfrew Ross. Spent a 2 week holiday in Arisaig as a kid and spent nearly every day looking out the window at the rain. Morar is really nice, is the Hotel still there? Yeah, the Morar hotel is still there. Changed ownership a few years ago from what I recall. Quite expensive by all acco...

Going back to the original topic, I think the SPT should preserve one unit in the orange livery.

Can anyone explain the origin of the carmine and cream ?? Is this a colour scheme from a bygone age, which has been adopted by the SPT for the present day ??

I believe the derilict building is something to do with the docks, however, it must be pretty close to where the railway line used to run down to Renfrew.

I'm surprised this story about the North Lanarkshire Mafia has actually been allowed to see the light of day, not swept under the carpet.

Obvisously, someone not in the Monklands diocese has decided to talk.

See if you can find the nest. Kill the source. My in-laws had a problem a year or two ago with them. They came home one night to find the ants with wings getting chased into their kitchen from underneath the house. Turned out, these were young Queens being driven from the nest by the worker ants, so...

New airport link and staion vid http://www.spt.co.uk/garl/ Had a look at that. I see they plan to build only 1 fast track between the two existing tracks. Surely it would be better (and cost effective) to reinstate the two lines at the same time rather than doing one now, and in a few years if capa...
