Hi Monument,

I'd be happy to do the Mile End walk if anyone is interested. How would Saturday 14th July suit, meet outside the Olympia at Bridgeton Cross at 10.00. It would last around an hour an a half.

Speaking of short streets, Wyper Place, the wee cul-de-sac at the side of the Bellgrove Hotel on Gallowgate has got to be up there with Clayslaps Road and Langbank Street.

Broad Street in Bridgeton is never all that busy, particularly at weekends. It was one of the main thoroughfares in the predominantly industrial Mile End, and has some interesting stuff. I led a wee heritage walk round the area recently, and there still remains a few historical gems.

Parker Brothers out at Stepps were I think Fiat agents. The showroom is now in use as a supermarket.
