The Long Tunnel

I have memories as a boy of my dad driving me through a long arched sandstone tunnel I suspect under a railway in the north of the city. There was a sharp bend in from either end and only after the bend, did you see the tunnel in front of you. I also think I may have used this tunnel as late as 1988...

Can someone tell me where the sump is in a deltic engine. The layout as I can see it does not lend itself to ease of lubrication. :?:
