Re: Lockerbie Remembered

:(

At least some Scottish Nationalists got to boast about their wonderful compassion. That's the main thing.

Did Myra Hindley not die in prison of cancer?

Oh, the humanity.

Re: Lockerbie Remembered

I think that, if Megrahi had been placed under 'house arrest' or confined in hospital.... He could never win with the opposition parties, who have demeaned themselves in my eyes by playing their usual Party Politics over his decision. I think he made the correct decision.... I am glad that, for onc...

Re: Lockerbie Remembered

If some eedjit decides to to cancel their bus tour of the lochs over this, then that is easily a price worth paying for a justice system that does not bow before the whimsy of Fox News. The Justice Secretary is in charge of justice, that's correct. He is not charge of the nation's compassion. If we...

I don't even claim to understand what this point is about. ::):

Re: Lockerbie Remembered

There is no 'ifs' here. The Scottish criminal system found Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi guilty of the Pan-Am Flight 103 terrorist attack. That is a fact. A politician has decided that the offence was not serious enough to warrant keeping Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi in prison in Scotland unt...

Re: Lockerbie Remembered

There is also the possibility of reoffending to consider. It is unlikely that Mr Al MaBawbag will ever get clearance to place bombs on a plane ever again, yet Robert Black (if released) would likely go hunting youngsters to abuse given he is a sexual deviant and has portrayed such throughout his li...

I doubt anyone on this forum is that powerful or that much 'in the know'.

In any case, he has not been released because his verdict has been overturned on appeal. The verdict still stands.

Re: Lockerbie Remembered

I can't believe some people are getting off on some imaginary moral high ground. A guy convicted of killing 270 people is released and some wankers are walking around congratulating themselves on their moral brilliance. I can't wait until Robert Black starts taking a few dizzy turns and the campaign...

Re: Lockerbie Remembered

Megrahi will make a miraculous recovery when he gets home, no doubt. The Libyans will treat him as a returning hero and be utterly amazed at how stupid we really are.

Tam Dalyell is, and always be, an arsehole, in my view.

Re: Tues 18th Aug 09 = Madness

I'm sure Glasgow still holds the European attendance record for having hosted two European semi-finals on the same night. April 19, 1972 saw 80,000 at Ibrox to see Rangers play Bayern Munich and 75,000 at Celtic Park to watch Celtic against Inter Milan. This was a time when i) supporters could get b...

Inevitable. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8186701.stm News Corp is set to start charging online customers for news content across all its websites.
