Re: Doorstop

not heard from you in ages ninatoo i do hope you are well. Hi Banjo, I haven't been terribly well, actually. Spent a couple of years getting over cancer and just when I thought I was doing well I had a stroke recently. Luckily I appear to be dodging that bullet as well. I will try to pop in more of...

Re: Doorstop

Oh I am very sad to read this. Doorstop and I shared the same birthday, though I don't think the same year. RIP Doorstop.

Rewatching Lost for the third time. This time sharing it with my youngest, now she's old enough to tell me what it means! :D :D :D

Re: What Are You Currently Reading

'Treblinka' by Jean-Francois Steiner. I'm reading it because many years ago my father loaned me this book but I was too young to fully understand what it was all about. I have often thought that I should read it again, and so I found it on the net.

That was my reason for getting out of photobucket too. Apparently it's happening all over the net.

Re: RIP HollowHorn

I am so sorry to hear this sad news. HollowHorn was very welcoming when I first came here and he was so helpful to me and went out of his way to provide valuable information seeing as I couldn't get it for myself. There is a thread on here about St Andrews Square which he was almost single-handedly ...

Re: Whit's fur tea?

Shepherd's Pie at my house is made with beef mince (with a few added ingredients) and I sprinkle grated cheese on the potato. Mmmmm! It's not a REAL Shepherd's Pie, but I don't care!

Re: Glasgow Garden Festival 1988

I was rummaging through my Gran's papers today on a genealogy hunt (she died in 1995 so she wouldn't mind me going through her things). I came across this! In her typical way, she made a note on the ticket of the day she attended. She made notes about everything, and I mean everything! This date was...

Re: An extinct job?

I got a bit of a fright seeing my granny's pictures up there! I'd forgotten I'd posted them.

Re: Whit's fur tea?

Just had an early Christmas feast with my family. Kids will be with their dad for Christmas (I use the term 'kids' loosely, as they live with me and they are my offspring but two of the three are adults), so we have our Christmas dinner earlier on those years.

Re: Glasgow or is it Glazgow... what is it to you?

It's always been a 'z' when pronounced by my parents, so that's how I pronounce it (over here in Australia).
