Re: Glasgow Garden Festival 1988

I may just be sinking into a cynical retirement, but my memory of the Garden Festival was an expensive pile of tacky, non-permanent sheg. Like many other Glasgow white elephants it was but a flash in the pan destined for the scrappie.

Re: Thatcher is dead.

Hi Moonbeam. Read with interest your contribution in which you highlight a range of positive political achievements you believe were secured by Mrs Thatcher. Those from the other side would of course offer up a different view of the alleged benefits brought about by Mrs Thatcher. We can debate this ...

This is a woman who ripped apart whole swathes of working class community both here and in the north of England. I well remember b...

Re: Drumchapel

As someone who lived in the scheme from 53 until 89 I well remember the manouvering of all those who claimed to represent and support those who lived there. Even today, I still on occasion drive through the scheme and wonder if it ever was a good...

Pub Urinals

As I continue to celebrate the benefits of retirement and frequent innebriation, I have come across some wonderful (and awful) examples of male urinals in Glesga pubs and other public places. As a past professional exponant of the Plumbing trade and Social Services I am familiar with the darker aspe...
