Re: Negative scanners

Anyone got up-to-date recommendations for a film/slide scanner? I've got an older Epson flatbed scanner with film scanning capability but not too impressed with the results, suspect dedicated device is the way to go. I still use my Epson Perfection 4490, it's not the best of the best for scanning n...

Re: Negative scanners

Mac, does the 4490 generally come with a holder that'll take 6x12 shots? Been tinkering with some MF pinhole stuff recently and getting a good scan seems harder than figuring out the reciprocity failure.... Sorry for the extremely extremely long delay in replying m8, only just saw your reply (I hav...

Lovely magical mystery tour it was too, what I saw in a route list didn't correspond to where the bus was actually bloody heading in real life. Thanks First Bus! Next time - please lay on some ref...

Re: New camera advice

Stan63, I'd suggest the same as Lucky Poet did, I use a FinePix S9600 and they can be cumbersome to use, not the fastest of cameras to use, no idea if Fuji sorted this on the later models though, in my opinion the small pocket cameras seem to work better for capturing spontaneous quick photos, with ...

Re: Negative scanners

I use an Epson Perfection 4490 photo scanner, a very good bit of hardware, been scanning quite a lot of 80+ year old MF negatives as-well as 35mm, 110mm neg's on it. The scan quality is some of the best I've ever seen from domestic scanners. :) You can pick them up in some places for under £100 now....

Re: Glasgow Fire stations past and present

....................... Also, Partick Housing Association (PHA) used to be called "Meadowside and Thornwood Housing Association" just to stop any confusion. Partick Housing Association and Meadowside and Thornwood Housing Association were separate organisations till they merged about 10 y...
