Couldn't find anyything in forum about this, Can anyont tell me anything about a large face carving on the banks of the Clyde just downstream of Renfrew ferry area? difficult to see in the summer when trees have their leaves

Just to let you all know the Ferry no8 aka Kelvinhaugh is back on base beside Riverside museum. Extensive hull repairs and paint job done. Will be in use when weather improves but not as commercial vessel. may be open Wednesdays for looksee if you ask at ship, and volunteers aboard are not too busy.

With regard to the small passenger ferrys, The last working example (No8) is at present at Rothsay Dock undergoing hull repairs and repaint. however the propellers and prop shafts also need a good deal of renovation (costly). At the moment (mid Oct) the ferry is out of the water in Rothsay Dock, for inspection and hull painting, There are a couple of issuses which need to be resolved before it goes back in the water.
